3: Interview with Chandler Mann
Born and raised in the small town of Hutchinson, Kansas, Chandler was blessed with two incredible parents and is one of four girls. She was bred to bleed crimson and blue, and attended the University of Kansas majoring in Visual Arts with an emphasis in printmaking, where her obsession with Jayhawk basketball only increased.
After college Chandler continued her education through a graduate seminary program, The Kanakuk Institute. It was here that The Lord grew her heart to share the gospel through the gift of visual art and design. Shortly after K.I., she started interning remotely from Kansas City for a lifestyle and gift brand, Scarlet & Gold. Her internship turned into a full time design & styling position.
Today, Chandler resides in Auburn, Alabama – the headquarters of Scarlet & Gold. Day to day you can find her anywhere from styling photoshoots, to teaching calligraphy, or even working with various mediums (like nail polish) to create a product.
“ ‘It’s a rare gift to pay your bills as you fill up your soul.’ – Jennie Allen. A rare gift. That is what my career as a creative is to me. People search their whole lives to find an occupation that gets them out of bed in the morning. I can honestly say, getting to design daily lights a fire in my soul. It is so sweet, so life-giving, so rare. To me it is so clearly God’s calling on my life.”
